5 Most Hotly Anticipated Films of 1998

4. Lost In Space

Lost In Space Easily one of the most beloved television shows of the 60's was none other than the sci-fi family oriented epic Lost in Space. With its wholesome values, moral lessons, and dry humor mixed with space adventure drama, it seemed a bit of a no-brainer that before long someone in Hollywood would try to bring the show to the big screen. It would seem that the time has finally come! With an all-star cast rounding out the legendary Robinson family, to cutting edge computer generated elements, this is not going to be your mama's Lost in Space! William Hurt will be playing the lead role of Professor Robinson alongside Matt LeBlanc of Friends fame as Major Don West. Party of Five's Lacey Chabert will play daughter Penny while relative newcomer Heather Graham will play her sister Judy. You may remember Graham as Rollergirl in last years Boogie Nights. In an odd choice of casting, Gary Oldman will be playing Dr. Smith. Oldman hasn't really done much other than Bram Stoker's Dracula JFK, and Air Force One but maybe this will be the role he will truly be remembered for in years to come. The plot is being kept quite a secret as you can imagine, however we do know The Robot will be returning and of course the family will be desperately trying to find their way home to Earth. Judging by the trailers and TV spots however, Lost in Space looks to be the biggest money maker of 1998 and possibly of all time! We will all find out for sure on April 3rd!
