5 Mouth-Watering Movie Meals (And 5 That Will Make Your Stomach Churn)

4. Charcoal Steak €“ Raging Bull

Raging Bull Steak Ask most chefs and they will tell you a steak is meant to be eaten rare. Personally, I'm quite happy if it's served with a pulse. And Jake LaMotta seems like the kind of guy who would, too. If only that would allow him to put it out of its misery. Sadly his wife is not of the same thinking, nor is she a Michelin starred chef; or maybe she just takes joy in annoying Jake and transferring her anger on the poor slab of beef. Just as Jake describes it, the steak arrives on his plate with a firm film of grease - that slicks all over the plate €“ that clings to the dry, charred, coal like flesh. "It's a piece of charcoal!"

Frustratingly argumentative writer, eater, reader and fanatical about film ‘n’ food and all things fundamentally flawed. I have been a member of the WhatCulture family since it was known as Obsessed with Film way back in the bygone year of 2010. I review films, festivals, launch events, award ceremonies and conduct interviews with members of the ‘biz’. Follow me @FilmnFoodFan In 2011 I launched the restaurant and food criticism section. I now review restaurants alongside film and the greatest rarity – the food ‘n’ film crossover. Let your imaginations run wild as you mull on what that might look like!
