5 Reasons Sony's Venom Movie Is Doomed To Fail

4. Avi Arad And Matt Tolmach Are Producing

When Kevin Feige took over creative control of the Spider-Man franchise for Sony, it was reported that he wanted Avi Arad (someone he has a fair bit of unpleasant history with) and Matt Tolmach nowhere near the character. That explains why they've gone from lording over the hero's future and stating that he would never be in The Avengers to managing an unwanted spinoff like this, but their involvement is still very bad news. Arad is the one who forced Sam Raimi to include Venom in Spider-Man 3, and we all know how that went. Together with Tolmach, he also managed to run The Amazing Spider-Man franchise into the ground, making the sort of creative decisions that leads a studio to plead with a rival, Marvel/Disney, to take their marquee character. The leaked "Sony Hack" emails also proved that these two have no idea what they're doing with these characters, no matter how much of a fan Arad claims to be. The fact that these two clueless goons are so closely involved with Venom pretty much guarantees it will be a disaster, and whether they use Eddie, Flash, or someone entirely new, you can bet your life fans will hate it.
