5 Stoner Films That Aren't Supposed To Be Stoner Films

4. Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story

Walk Hard John C. Reilley stars as Dewey Cox in this spoof biopic of every musician ever. The film mainly draws reference from the smash Johnny Cash biopic Walk The Line and spanning the genres, we join Dewey as he grows up, loses his sense of smell and becomes a fully-fledged rock star. Why it should be a stoner film: Smothered in musical satire, if you stumble across this when high, be ready for awesome some sing-a-longs. Dewey Cox's up-and-down-and-up-again story of a rock god is on the same level as the stoner film's basic 'journey' premise, a la Harold and Kumar. If you're a music fan (which most stoners are!) you'll enjoy watching timeless music heroes such as Jim Morrison and Elvis get the send-up treatment and John C. Reilley ain't so bad at sounding out a tune. The film also has many, many celebrity cameos such as Jack White, Frankie Muniz, Ceryl Tiegs and the man himself Eddie Vedder, so keep an eye out. Memorable Line: "What about my dreams?" "Edith I told you I can't build your candy house! It will fall apart, the sun will melt the candy, it won't work!" It's also worth mentioning the amazing Beatles 'Indian phase' scene with Paul Rudd as John Lennon, Jack Black as Paul McCartney, Justin Long as George Harrison and Jason Schwartzman as Ringo Starr which will send you into fits laughter.
