Then Star Trek director JJ Abrams jumped on-board and fans have had difficulty picking their jaws up off the floor. From then on, forums have been buzzing about who is going to play who; if Han, Luke and Leia are returning; and who will be the next crop of sci-fi heroes in a galaxy far, far away. And now we finally know something, though it's rather unexpected: Adam Driver, famous for his role on HBO's Girls, will play villain in Episode 7, beating out the likes of Michael Fassbender and Hugo Weaving to the role. Variety reports that the actor is in the final stages of talks and the delay in the announcement is due to scheduling conflicts with Girls. It's also believed that JJ Abrams' villain will be reminiscent of series icon, Darth Vader, and that other roles will be revealed imminently, as production starts in April.
