5 Things You May Not Have Known About Benedict Cumberbatch

2. Loves His Fans, Hates Their Name

thumbnail If you have ever spent more than 5 minutes on Tumblr, you will know that Benedict Cumberbatch is kind of a big deal there. He has legions of fans who share and reblog everything Cumberbatch. Many, but not all, of these fans are teenaged girls who love his performances in Sherlock. Which is great. Most stars would love such a dedicated fan base. Only shows like Doctor Who get the same 'kind' of love on Tumblr and there is an explosion of reblogs whenever a new image from the Sherlock starts making the rounds. Cumberbatch has confessed his love for his fans in the past, although recently has taken umbrage with fans who affectionately call themsleves 'Cumberbitches'. In an interview with the Times, he said:
"I won't allow you to be my bitches. I think it sets feminism back so many notches. You are... Cumberpeople."
I just wish he had told me sooner. Now I have 500 buiness cards with 'Patrick Dane: Cumberbitch' that I don't know what to do with.
