5 Winners And 5 Losers From SDCC 2014

San Diego Comic-Con is about more than just Marvel vs. DC.

Another San Diego Comic-Con has come and gone, and it's time to look back, examine, and discuss the convention's biggest winners and losers. Okay, so it'll likely be more of a debate than an actual discussion, but hey, that's what Comic-Cons are all about, right? Hollywood's biggest studios show up to display their upcoming films in all their glory, battling it out to win over crowds of screaming fans who waited in line for hours on end just to see Robert Downey Jr. feed Josh Brolin a rose. This year's expectations for SDCC were likely higher than any in the convention's history. The upcoming slate of blockbuster tentpoles and superhero films grows more and more each year, and this year we were hopeful for many of them to blow us away. We've got Warner Brothers' Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and the burgeoning DC universe, we've got Marvel heading into the tail end of their Phase Two, which concludes with Avengers: Age of Ultron and then barrels off into Phase Three, which is nearly unknown territory. Then there are the likes of Fox, with their X-Men and Fantastic Four films, Sony with the Spider-Man franchise, and countless other science fiction, monster, horror, and genre films in between. As always, not every studio can come out on top, and several were even dead upon arrival. So, let's take a look at the winners and losers from SDCC this year, beginning with those who stole the show and won our geeky, geeky hearts...
