50 Comic Book Movies That Almost Got Made

Who's ready for an extensive superpowered history lesson?

Hollywood€™s love affair with comic books took decades to come to fruition, but today there are few more sought after properties than superheroes in modern day cinema. For fans, it€™s a glorious time. No longer are these movies viewed as nothing more than overblown toy commercials, or as something that should be viciously tampered with to the point that it becomes unrecognizable. However, despite nearly every comic book property being gobbled up by the studios, there have been plenty of movies that have come close to production, only to fall apart at the last minute. For every Man Of Steel or Guardians Of The Galaxy, there have been countless rejected scripts and failed projects €“ some more famous than others €“ that attempted to deliver a whole host of comic-characters to audiences. This list will be shedding a light on these failed projects - from Wes Craven and Rob Zombie attempting to bring their horror movie sensibilities to the genre to the Hulk fighting giant insect men to several sequels that absolutely had no business even being up for discussion. Some of them had the potential for greatness while the others were almost certain to fail, this is the best and the worst that the comic book movie genre almost had to offer.
