48. The Legend Of Tarzan

Rather than the usual origin story of Boy meets Apes and then girl and then Civilisation, David Yates' take on the Tarzan story sees the king of the swingers returning to the jungle as a trade emissary of Parliament with his wife (Margot Robbie). Inevitably, there's more to the story, as he's really just a pawn being used by villain Captain Rom (Christoph Waltz embracing the type-casting), and hopefully we'll see Alexander Skarsgard's jungle man team up with his animal buddies to take on The Man.

It's been in production since 2003 (including a version helmed by Guillermo Del Toro at one point) and it was temporarily paused for a year because of an escalating budget, but it does look like the pieces are in place now. Or let's hope so anyway.

Release Date: 1st July 2016
