6 Future Billion Dollar Movies That Were Announced In 2013

6. Alice In Wonderland: Into The Looking Glass (2016)

Is Tim Burton's laughably bad Alice In Wonderland, quite possibly, the worst ever movie to gross a billion dollars? It's a mean contender, that's for sure. Still, the immense success of that movie - which starred Johnny Depp as The Mad Hatter in full-on quirk mode - pretty much guaranteed that a sequel would come along eventually, and lo and behold - in November of this year, it was announced that Alice in Wonderland 2 was officially in production, and that Depp would return to reprise his role (presumably under the promise of lots and lots of money). The first movie was terrible in all the ways that modern blockbusters frequently are: for a movie based on one of the most wondrous books ever written, it was surprisingly uncreative and dull. Mia Wasikowska, who played the eponymous heroine of the movie's title, has also signed on to return, which will at least give movie-goers something pretty to look at for the sum of two hours. No word yet as to what the plot will involve, but we can at least be thankful that Tim Burton is off doing other things, and that Muppets director James Bobin has signed on instead.
