6 Most Titillating Italian Films With Awesome Titles

what have you done to solange The Giallo is a subgenre of film that is almost exclusively Italian. Giallo means 'yellow' in Italian and it refers to the yellow covers of the pulp fiction paperbooks that were in Italian culture and which many of these films are based upon. Gialli are usually violent and gory murder mysteries that flirt with horror and also contain a large dollop of sexual behaviour - especially sleazy sexual behaviour. There are certain motifs of the genre - a black clad, black gloved assassin and beautiful Euro babes running around in their scanties. They seem manufactured to inspire horror, disgust and arousal in the viewer simultaneously. Most Gialli have awesome titles - The Bird With the Crystal Plumage, Crazy Desires of a Murderer, What Have They Done to Your Daughters? The titles are extremely titillating. They promise horrible violence and at the same time delicious filth. I have compiled my list based on my favourite titles - and concurrent sleaze levels. If you have a particular favourite titillating Italian film title, please share below!

6. Strip Nude For Your Killer (1975)

strip nude A model has a backstreet abortion and dies. The doctor responsible tries to bring her body back home and stage a death but he is thwarted by a black clad motorcyclist who kills him. The film switches to a fashion house where two photographers - Carlo and Magda (the latter played by the incredibly beautiful Edwige Fenech) begin an affair. There are all sorts of sexy things happening in the fashion house until the models start being killed. Just who has this crazy vendetta against the models and why are they killing them? An infamous Giallo that manages to be both sleazy and puritanical in the inimitable style of the best, barrel scraping Gialli, Strip Nude For Your Killer features many scenes of people doing exactly that. It is chockfull to the brim with beautiful women - including Femi Benussi who gives Edwige Fenech a good run for her money in the sexiness stakes. The soundtrack is pure Giallo sleaze magnificence. It is a hugely politically incorrect movie which will either morally outrage you or tickle you pink (depending upon your persuasion!). The initial comedic tone dispels a lot of the film's sadism in any case, and it is a good fun ride to unmask the killer with plenty of red herrings ahoy. A must for Giallo/Eurotrash fans.

My first film watched was Carrie aged 2 on my dad's knee. Educated at The University of St Andrews and Trinity College Dublin. Fan of Arthouse, Exploitation, Horror, Euro Trash, Giallo, New French Extremism. Weaned at the bosom of a Russ Meyer starlet. The bleaker, artier or sleazier the better!
