6 Movie Characters Who Should Have Accepted The Ice Bucket Challenge

The Challenge hasn't kicked the bucket just yet...

Between the debate over Scottish independence, 9/11 tributes and the resolution of the Oscar Pistorius trial, you might have missed the most seismic news event of the week: Kim Kardashian finally completed the Ice Bucket Challenge. If proof were needed that the trend has now officially jumped the shark, this was surely it. You know all about the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge by now, and you probably grew tired of the interminable slew of videos featuring witless celebrities showing off their opulent back yards and washboard abs long ago. Nevertheless, it€™s still kept its drenched head in the news of late, and that€™s no bad thing. At times, the actual point and purpose of the whole deal €“ namely that you nominate other people to accept the challenge or donate money to the charity as a forfeit €“ seemed to take a back seat, but the tangible benefits of the viral craze have been heart-warmingly huge. Recent research has suggested that one in six Britons took part, with at least half that number also making a donation, and over $100 million has been donated worldwide thus far. Many a movie star got involved too, from Tom Cruise to Chris Pratt to Tom Hanks to Chris Hemsworth, not to mention lots more people not named Tom or Chris. Egos and allegiances were put to one side as Marvel and DC joined hands: several Avengers manned up without any cover from S.H.I.E.L.D., the Guardians braved the buckets and Kal-El stoicly accepted his soaking in full costume. But these were just actors (sorry to break the illusion). The Ice Bucket Challenge has been taken up in countries across the globe, with some participants in Iran choosing to substitute water for salt in the face of an on-going drought, but as yet there€™s been no word from Krypton or Tatooine or Pandora. So which movie characters have disappointed us by failing to show off their charitable side?

I watch movies and I watch sport. I also watch movies about sport, and if there were a sport about movies I'd watch that too. The internet was the closest thing I could find.
