6 Reasons Why Chris Nolan Should Direct Akira

6. He Can Handle A Blockbuster

Chris Nolan knows money. The guy is one of the most successful directors of our time and I€™m pretty sure he actually sleeps in thousand dollar suits and wipes his forehead with hundred dollar bill, while the rest of us fart in our wallets and call it gas money. Creating a movie such as Akira means spending a whole patch of cabbage. This is a story about a post-World War III Neo-Tokyo, ridiculously powerful psychics and super-rad motor bikes. Who better to take the reins for a trilogy that would have such a ridiculous budget? Film studios have placed their faith and money in Nolan and have reaped the benefits of his capabilities. Not only will Nolan be able to handle the responsibility that comes with helming an ambitious project with such a huge budget, but he€™s no stranger to a story of this scope. This is a man who made a film about dreams within dreams within Leo Dicaprio, followed that up with an entire city being taken siege by a horrible asthmatic who, despite wearing a mask, has more facial expression than Kirsten Stewart and, to top it all off, managed the impossible task of keeping Matthew Mcconaughey€™s shirt on during a galaxy-spanning adventure.
