6 Reasons Why Zach Braff Shouldn't Be On Kickstarter

4. He Seems Unwilling To Compromise His Vision

Wish I Was Here Concept Art

As much as I respect filmmakers who want to retain creative integrity, the fact of the matter is that filmmaking will always require compromise. Whether it€™s compromise with other people on creative matters or having to change things because of budget, it€™s going to happen at some point. Because this isn€™t a magical fantasy land where everything you want will come true, and in filmmaking more than any other business, you can€™t always have what you want. For example, the project I am currently working on is pretty ambitious and because I€™ll be making it on a shoestring budget and it€™s being used as my university final year project, some scenes or concepts will have to go to make the film possible and to get the best possible grade. But I€™m fine with that. Not being able to fully realise your vision is a sad reality of filmmaking. If I, a nineteen year old with an ego the size of Essex, can realise this and work around these constraints, a professional filmmaker like Zach Braff should be able to. Because when things aren€™t working out the way you hoped, you€™ve got to make do and try your best to not make the compromises hurt your film.
