Another day, another box office record of The Avengers easily broken by Jurassic World. When it hit theaters in the summer of 2012, many were predicting that the sheer speed at which Marvel's ensemble epic was smashing box office records couldn't be matched, given the size of the built-in fanbase and the novelty value in seeing all of these established superheroes in the same movie for the first time.

Of course, the Indominus Rex and friends had something to say about that. While The Avengers earned an incredible $270m during the course of its first seven days in theaters, Jurassic World absolutely smashed that record by accumulating a jaw-dropping $296.2m, a number that only three movies managed to surpass during their entire theatrical runs in 2014!

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
