7 Comic Book Characters Who Seriously Need Their Own Movies

1. Tank Girl (aka Rebecca Buck)

Okay, technically I'm cheating because a movie of this does technically exist already. Sadly. Fans of the comics hated it, film fans hated it, and how Malcolm McDowell was convinced to join in the (for want of a better term) 'fun', is beyond me. The writing didn't make any sense, the editing was downright toxic and for some reason Rebecca has an I-don't-know-what-you're-going-for accent when the story is actually set in Australia, and written by the British. If you like the movie, good for you, I'm not trying to drag you down, I'm just saying there were a lot of disappointed people walking out of that particular film. But consider Tank Girl's potential: it's artwork could lend some fairly impressive visuals to a movie, and given its subject matter its narration is surprisingly poetic. While on the surface it does appear little more than filth, it's full of colour and fun characters, and as far as making a movie goes, the direction could go one of two ways:
a) A really grown up, ultra-realistic 'reboot' affair, similar to the 'Amazing Spiderman' or the 'Dark Knight' trilogy that would really address the emotional unbalance of this kind of world. b) A Tarantino-style, taking-every-opportunity-possible kind of flick that really goes all out but still gives us something clever and entertaining.
It would be risky and could very easily bomb again, but if you get enough people in one room who know what cinema goers want to see and at the same time are determined to remain faithful to the comics, (while maybe getting Terry Gilliam to direct) it couldn't possibly go far wrong.

I got bored one day, so I decided to write things on the Internet.
