8 Actors Who Should Come Out Of Retirement For One Last Role
4. Phoebe Cates
Oh Phoebe Cates, we hardly knew ye. You walked out of that pool in Fast Times at Ridgemont High and kept right on walking until you were nothing more than a mirage in the distance, a faint memory soaked in our own tears of regret. "Why didn't we appreciate you more when we had you (metaphorically) in front of us?" Cates last appeared, briefly, in the instantly forgettable 2001 rom-com, The Anniversary Party. It was her first role in 7 years and apparently was enough to drive her away from acting (and our open arms) for good. The teen sex idol-turned-MILF might be something of a cliche by now, but there's a classy, Mrs. Robinson type of hot mom role out there for Phoebe Cates somewhere. Hey, maybe you even have her team up with Elisabeth Shue just to create one last, mega wet dream for the kids of the 80s.
