Let's be honest; this time two years ago, most of us didn't even know the name David Harbour. Sure, the 42-year old American actor has been working steadily in TV and film for almost two decades, but he'd never had a role that really cemented him in the wider consciousness.

That is, until he landed the plum part of Hawkins Police Chief Jim Hopper in Stranger Things, which has become a popular sensation since the first season launched on Netflix in July 2016.

As such, it was a bit of a good news/bad news situation when it was announced that Hellboy was getting rebooted with Harbour in the lead. Many fans remain angry that Guillermo del Toro and Ron Perlman will now never get to close the trilogy they started; but at the same time, it's hard to deny the potential of a new take on the material.

The first shots of Harbour in the make-up as HB were certainly eye-opening. There's barely a hint of the world-weary, slightly overweight cop of Stranger Things in this hulking, musclebound, grimacing demon.

We wait with bated breath for a trailer, to see what Harbour and director Neil Marshall have in store for us.
