8 Bizarre Peanuts Characters You Probably Won't See In The Peanuts Movie

7. Larry

By the 1990s Schulz rarely introduced new characters to Peanuts, but one of the more interesting minor characters who appeared late in the strip€™s run was Larry, a young student in the Bible school class taught by Charlie Brown€™s sister, Sally. Even though Larry is the son of the church€™s minister, he thinks that The Great Gatsby is a Biblical character and also confuses Gatsby with Citizen Kane on one occasion. He also has a crush on Sally, who he thinks of in Gatsby terms as his Daisy. Larry is a pretty weird character because of his obsession with The Great Gatsby, and Schulz only used him a few times. While a young child constantly confusing Biblical stories with the Great Gatsby and Citizen Kane might be humorous to adults, the jokes would completely go over the heads of the children in the audience watching the movie.
