8 Comic Book Characters That Deserve Another Movie (And How To Do It)

8. Ghost Rider

Ghost Rider could be seen as a turning point for Nic Cage; around the time it was released he was moving from being a genuine movie star to a living internet meme. As a lifelong comic fan he tried for years to land a role where he could play one, with Superman Lives being his most famous near miss. He eventually settled - in every sense of the word - for Ghost Rider. While Cage was fun in the role €“ even with the terrible wig he wore in part one €“ the movies around him were not. They did well at the box office but reviews from critics and fans were scathing. Cage announced he was done with the character after part two, with the rights heading back to Marvel soon afterwards. How To Do It First of all ditch the Nic Cage movies. The second movie acted as a semi-reboot anyway, so nobody will be upset about starting from scratch. The new movie doesn€™t have to be ultra dark, but it should do away with the jokey elements. Ghost Rider is basically a Jekyll And Hyde character, so focus on the horror elements of a good man being forced to become a walking nightmare. It also doesn€™t need to be a mega budget blockbuster; give it a mid-range budget and place it as an edgier, alternative comic book movie. The Nic Cage movies were successful - even with the terrible reviews - so there's definitely an audience for the character.
