8 Great Characters Sony's Marvel Movies Have Completely Screwed Up

How does one studio manage to f*ck up the same character twice?

Sony Pictures may not hold the rights to as many Marvel characters as 20th Century Fox or even Marvel Studios themselves, but they've still done a bang up job of f***ing the vast majority of them up over the past few years. The Spider-Man and Ghost Rider franchises have greatly suffered at their hands, and for proof of that, you need only look at what's become of them. The rights to Ghost Rider have reverted to Marvel and he's now left on the shelf, while Sony handled Spider-Man so poorly that they had no other choice than to make a deal with Marvel and give them creative control. However, while each of these franchises may have been handled badly, poor business decisions made by clueless studio execs are nowhere near as bad as how the filmmakers in charge of these releases completely dropped the ball on a long list of key characters. From minor players to big names, these are the heroes and villains who were handled so terribly that it's hard to imagine moviegoers ever wanting to see them again, something which unfortunately reduces their chances of any sort of redemption. Some names here will be instantly familiar, though there are others you€™ll no doubt wish you could go back to forgetting€
