8 Great Side Characters From M. Night Shyamalan Movies

2. Young Sexy Tennant From Lady In The Water

thCAS0FXNY Character Name: Young Soon-Choi Actress Name: Cindy Cheung Let's call it a stereotype redeemed. At first you may be rebuffed at her character traits for she is loud, obnoxious, and trashy. Yet as you get to know her throughout the story you find more and more to appreciate. Looking beneath the surface and studying the character a bit helps because every character in a Shyamalan film either has a distinct purpose or at least a very detailed background. Look closely and you'll see a bigger story brewing beneath the venere of Young Soon-Choi. You'll see the story of a mother and a daughter in America; specifically how American culture clashes with Chinese values (look at how Young Soon-Choi contrast with her mother). It's all there, hidden in different levels of interpretation. In fact I'd venture to say that the role her character plays (along with the character's mother) can actually at times be more intriguing than the official narrative of the over-arching story. I give much credit to M. Night Shyamalan for creating this unique character fashioned with such a rich personal history. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djappI9-IsQ

Raymond Woods is too busy watching movies to give you a decent bio. If he wasn't too busy watching movies and reading books about movies and listening to podcasts about movies, this is what he'd tell you. "I know more about film than you. Accept this as a fact and we might be able to talk."
