8 Iconic Britons That Need Their Own Biopics (And Who Should Play Them)

8. Karen Gillan As Boudicca

Gillan Another Doctor Who alumni, Alex Kingston, starred in a TV Movie titled The Warrior Queen, in which she played the legendary Celtic leader - but a rather dampening 5.4 rating and the small factor that very few have neither seen nor heard of this 'destined-to-sit-on-the-top-shelf-of-the-history-classroom-forever' flick would suggest that Boudicca's story is simply crying out for a remake. Step forward Karen Gillan, an equally fiery Celt who's roles in both Doctor Who and the upcoming Guardians Of The Galaxy lend her enough acting credentials to pull off the leading role in a biopic about one of Britain's most inspirational female figures. Detail her revolt against the Mad Emperor Nero (in a Joaquin Phoenix from Gladiator type role - who Rafe Spall would be ideal for) and Hollywood has found itself a classic tale of oppressed versus oppressor. The Suffolk landscape featured in any tale of Boudicca's would need to be handled with the same care and appreciation as a John Constable painting, whilst attention to historical accuracy would be a must. The man for the job; Kenneth Branagh - experienced with setting (Hamlet, Sleuth), historical figures (Henry V) and big budget action sequence (Shadow Recruit, Thor) - has got the credentials to cover it all. If he were to cast himself a supporting role, too, then you've also added to the acting credentials hugely.
