Christian Bale might be considered the best actor to play Batman overall, but few can deny the impact Michael Keaton had on the role. In just one movie he shattered the Adam West campy era, turning Batman into a dark, psychologically wounded character to be feared instead of mocked. He needs to create this myth because €“ as the movie shows time and again €“ in a real fight he€™s kind of useless, and he needs the psychological edge on his opponents.
