8 Most Hilariously Bad Things About The New Aquaman Image

7. It Looks Like A Fan-Edited Image

The first reaction to the Aquaman image isn't one of humour, but of pity - it looks like legitimate news sources have been tricked by one of the plethora of fan images. But wait, it comes from a tweet from Zack Snyder... oh no - it's real?! The official images of the Cinematic Universe's central trio, Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman, have all been pretty impressive - they may have been mocked on Twitter for being too sad, too same-y and too warrior-y respectively, but they each struck their own tone and felt like fully formed ideas. When Gal Gadot was shown in her Amazonian get-up, it wasn't the girl from Fast Five in a costume on set, but Wonder Woman in the flesh. This, on the other hand, is just Jason Momoa in an Aquaman costume, with an out of place smirk and general unreal lighting making this of the same level of professionalism as those fan images that have been circulating the internet since Momoa's casting. And when those actually look better than the official version, something's wrong. Of course, this is less a slight against the design itself, but how it's presented - when his team-mates have been shown against character-specific backdrops in personality-encompassing poses, stood floating in black space disappointingly basic. Still, it's not just the image itself that's silly...
