8 Reasons Why The A-Team Deserves A Sequel

7. (Potentially) Jon Hamm As The Villain!

3 Because like this movie, how the hell can you not love Jon Hamm? I€™m trying with all my might to resist making €œHamming it up jokes€, but he would really suit such a meaty role (sorry€) Seriously though, much as I love the film, Patrick Wilson€™s Lynch somewhat lacks as a villain, and Brian Bloom (who co-wrote a screenplay) as Pike gets pretty annoying. Sure, the original show was never really renowned for its villains, but that doesn€™t mean the cinematic A-Team has to be the same- it€™s a very different beast. Mark Strong was originally approached to be the villain, but he pulled out, and that€™s a shame, because I imagine he would have made a very interesting villain, much like he did as Lord Blackwood. What The A-Team needs is a genuine threat to match the vaguely more grounded, slightly more gritty take it has adopted. Someone like Hamm, whose brief appearance instantly had more presence than all 2 hours of Wilson (who is a damn fine actor but felt kind of miscast in his role), would bring physicality, likability and charm to the role. He is not afraid to ridicule his good looks, so he could play up being a rugged alpha male and make his ego his defining weakness. A portrayal like that would be very exciting, and I always feel Hamm would love to play a villain of some sort. Maybe it€™s just me€
