8 Reasons Why X-Men: Apocalypse Might Suck

These nagging factors might slow the film down some.

With Days Of Future Past, Bryan Singer turned out arguably the best X-Men film to date. Whilst there were a couple of issues with it - mostly to do with wibbly wobbly timey-wimey garbage - it was still a strong offering for a guy who had been away from the director€™s chair of the franchise for so long.

Many of you will have seen the X-Men: Apocalypse trailer - and while it has its bona fide hell-yeah moments (the return of Quicksilver! Bald Professor X!), there were more downsides to it that suggested we might be in for a bumpy ride. It's important to keep those dodgy elements in mind, if only to avoid potential disappointment.

As fans, we've been burned before; back in '06, the X-Men: The Last Stand trailer didn't seem too bad, all things considered, and look how that turned out. Whilst its teaser had a lot of things going for it (the reveal of Angel, cool music, a broody Professor X pseudo-philosophical voiceover, fastball special!), a good teaser trailer does not a good movie make.

That's because films are always a forest-for-the-trees kind of deal, and sometimes small creative errors can really harm the film on the whole, regardless of however many fanboy moments you have in the finished film - for example, again with The Last Stand - Vinnie Jones grumbling the line "I'm the Juggernaut, b*tch" completely negated the awesomeness of seeing Iceman ice-up for the first time.

Will X-Men: Apocalypse on the whole fall victim to a few seeming missteps that can be seen in the trailer? There's a distinct possibility and here's why...
