Marvel have their work cut out for them if they want to meet the hype that's been directed at Spider-Man: Homecoming. Ever since his fantastic introduction in Captain America Civil War, it's fair to say Tom Holland's Peter Parker has quickly become one of the most hyped new additions to the MCU.
There is a fine balance to strike between focusing on Peter Parker as he tries to juggle high school with a bit of extra-curricular crime fighting and defining Homecoming as an integral piece of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And even with their finely honed approach to superhero movie hits, an icon like Spider-Man is always going to be tough to get right.
Thankfully, with a roster of villains that so far seem like they might actually have something interesting to offer, the stakes seem pretty high in Spidey's first solo adventure. Plus, Marvel have the assistance of a Robert Downey Jr shaped crutch to fall back on too.
With hype reaching fever pitch, interest in Homecoming's finer details couldn't be higher, and luckily there's already a lot of the plot we can work out from the marketing campaign...
