8 Things Batman V Superman Did Better Than Captain America: Civil War

6. The Funeral Of A Beloved Character

The death of Peggy Carter had to come sooner or later, and it arrived just in time for Steve to do some soul-searching about his future being a hero. While it was emotional to see the character pass on there was still something off about it, especially because any newcomer to the movies will have no context for who Peggy was; and also because Steve makes out with her niece like a half hour later.

Come on dude, the former love of your life isn’t even cold yet.

Superman’s death has the right touch of myth and sadness to it, though, with the worldwide outpouring of grief over his loss contrasted with Clark Kent’s modest funeral, while his mother and Lois Lane try to deal with it.

It hits you right in the feels, and for a film hardly overflowing with emotion at least Snyder was able to hit that beat perfectly.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
