8 Things J.J. Abrams Doesn’t Want You To Know About Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Secrecy on Episode VII is as off as a Stormtrooper's aim.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens may already be one of the most anticipated upcoming movies, cultivating daily news stories despite a far-off December release, but actual concrete information about what the film itself will entail is hard to come by. The teaser trailer set the movie's tone nicely and some character names have since been revealed, but beyond that you're entering highly speculative territory. Even though producer Kathleen Kennedy assured fans that J.J. Abrams wouldn't be as tight-lipped about his venture to the galaxy far, far away as he was about Benedict Cumberbatch's character in Star Trek Into Darkness or the entire point of Super 8, so far things are pretty impenetrable over at Lucasfilm. Oh, there's plenty of rumouring to be had, but none of it can really be substantiated. What did you really expect though? Abrams is a director who relishes in the mystique surrounding his projects and Disney want to carefully build hype to avoid repeating The Phantom Menace's mistakes - of course things would be quieter than an Alderaan during the celebrations of the Death Star's destruction. Still, the space-station of secrecy does have its very own thermal exhaust port, meaning the fact-hungry Star Wars fan can still get their fix. You see, those endless news stories may deliver little information by themselves, but put them all together and you can paint a picture of Episode VII that hasn't been officially talked about. Here are eight things about Star Wars: The Force Awakens J.J. Abrams wouldn't want you to know. There's no concept art or rumour mongering here - this is the real deal. Some of what's in here could be considered spoilers, so here's an obligatory warning.

Honourable Mention - Daisy Ridley Is A Solo

Daisy Ridley's an unknown, unproven actress who looks a little bit like a young Carrie Fisher, was seen sat between Fisher and Harrison Ford on the casting reveal photo and is playing a character whose last name has been purposely unannounced. There is literally only one person she could be playing in The Force Awakens. Of course, that she's the offspring of Han and Leia is still classed as speculation, so can't really be stated with 100% certainty. But she totally is though.
