8 Things The Die Hard Movies Tell You About Christmas

8. Always Take A Gun To The Christmas Party

Die Hard is the ultimate wish-fulfillment movie for gun lovers, presenting the best argument for carrying a weapon at all times, even if you€™re an off-duty cop 3000 miles away from your day job and it€™s Christmas Eve. Picture travelling that distance to attend a party in a city you€™ve never visited, hosted by a man you don€™t know, where the only familiar face is your estranged wife. Most of us would not arrive armed. But then most of us are not John McClane. This finally explains the movie€™s title, which has hitherto been shrouded in speculation. If it€™s a reference to the adage that €œold habits die hard€, what was the €œold habit€? Now we know: it€™s McClane preference for being armed no matter where he goes. Poor guy€™s afraid of flying and doesn€™t like LA, so of course he€™s going to cling to the one thing that gives him comfort. His hand cannon is like a teddy bear to him, except it€™ll blow your head clean off.
