8 Upcoming Sequels To Movies That Aren’t Even Out Yet

8. The Avatar Sequel Trilogy

It would be ridiculous to not make an Avatar sequel. It's the biggest film of all time after all (a title it looks unlikely to lose any time soon), so even if a sequel captures a fraction of the popularity it'll still be pretty massive. In fact, James Cameron is so certain about the longevity of his FernGully remake (why did no one notice that sooner) that on top of making Avatar 2, he's going to shoot the third and fourth instalments at the same time. Expect the sequels to hit in Winter 2017 and 2018 respectively (the first will, reportedly, arrive in 2016). Given the amount of projects Cameron's been linked to over the years to see him go all in with his run-of-the-mill sci-fi is a little disappointing, but we can see how hard it'd be to pull himself away from his passion project now it's proved too big to fail. Will It Be Any Good? The first film was met with positive reviews, but dissatisfaction quickly set in. Any sequels will probably be the same; audiences will love them, the internet will rage.
