8 Upcoming Superhero Movies Guaranteed To Make A Billion Dollars

2. Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice

Both The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises cracked the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office, while Man of Steel earned a respectable $668 million in 2013. Looking at those numbers, there's no way that putting Batman and Superman in the same movie (and sticking a "V" in the title) is going to result in anything other than an absolute box office juggernaut.

Warner Bros. were ridiculed by some fans for backing down from Captain America: Civil War - a movie it shared a release date with for some time - but that decision means Batman V Superman is now the first hero vs. hero movie to reach the big screen in 2016, something that gives it at least a slight edge.

Also, don't forget that the "Dawn Of Justice" subtitle refers to the Justice League coming together for an Avengers style team-up in this movie and then their own outing in 2017, so it's not hard to imagine Batman V Superman absolutely decimating box office records set by Jurassic World earlier this year when it's finally released.

Even for those who aren't comic book fans, Batman and Superman are icons, and seeing them standing side by side in the same movie and then kicking each other's butts is going to have widespread appeal.
