8 Villains For The MCU Spider-Man (And Who Should Play Them)

8. The Vulture - John Malkovich

Before Sam Raimi dropped out of the proposed Spider-Man 4, he made negotiations with John Malkovich to feature in the film as the Vulture AKA Adrian Toomes. As there are now rumours that the character will be used as the main villain in the MCU Spider-Man movie, Marvel and Sony should follow up on Raimi's casting from back then and hire Malkovich this time around. If it ain't broke don't fix it! First of all, Malkovich just looks the part. In the comics, Toomes is one of the oldest enemies Spider-Man faces - in that he is an elderly bald guy who happens to have invented wings which allow him to undertake his criminal activities. Spidey often has a lot of fun at the old man's expense but that doesn't mean the character should just be played for comedy. The Vulture should also have a considerable intelligence to him, to make up for his lack of intimidating physique. Malkovich is an old hat at villainous roles - he has played bad guys in everything from Con Air to Penguins Of Madagascar - and would make the genius geriatric a formidable opponent for Holland's Spidey.
