8 Ways Batman V Superman Could Be A Total Let Down

5. Those Cameos Are Bound To Disappoint

Cameos in any genre are tricky, but that's doubly the case in superhero movies. Nick Fury's appearance at the end of Iron Man was brief, but had huge ramifications, while Captain America surprisingly showing up in Thor: The Dark World was meaningless, but great fun. All of the cameos in Batman v Superman are setting the stage for Justice League though, so it's up to Zack Snyder to make sure they count and satisfy fans. Chances are though, that won't be the case. Apparently, The Flash will only be seen as a blur stopping a convenience store robbery. Cyborg meanwhile will still be a football player at this point and is set to show up during a game between the Metropolis and Gotham teams which Clark Kent is there covering for The Daily Planet. Oh, and if you thought that officially released image of Aquaman was an indication that he'll have a significant role in the movie, prepare for disappointment. It actually boils down to him being shown on a monitor being kept prisoner in LexCorp. In fairness, those are all rumours and may be wildly off base. For all we know, the Justice League will assemble in the final act of Batman v Superman! That seems doubtful though, and even if the descriptions above are totally wrong, cramming in appearances by these characters and balancing them with the main narrative and the fight between the two titular heroes is a tall order. In fact, it's reminiscent of the underwhelming and overly busy Iron Man 2, a movie which Marvel almost solely relied on to set up The Avengers. Regardless of whether you're hoping for full blown appearances from the heroes "Dawn of Justice" refers to or would rather that the focus be kept on Batman and Superman, you're almost certainly going to be disappointed. Snyder has repeatedly gushed about how important Wonder Woman is in this movie, and while that's great and all, surely it's the two heroes named in the title who should be the biggest stars here?!
