9 Famous Movie Moments Unbelievably Nailed On The First Take

The cinematic equivalent of "F*ck, yeah!"

One of the inherent perks of filmmaking is that you can keep shooting something over and over again until you get the result that you desire - budgetary costs withstanding. If an actor flubs a line, no sweat; you go back and you do it again. If a stuntman fails to hit his mark, then okay, set-up the shot and have another go (unless you just killed him, of course).

Whereas some directors, such as David Fincher, are renowned for doing up to 100 takes for every shot, you get the sense that there are other directors (ahem: Tommy Wiseau, anyone?) who are genuinely happy to use the first take, regardless of its quality.

Fincher, of course, is known to be something of a perfectionist; his desire to do take after take stems from his belief that the first won't necessarily hail the best results - that actors need to try out different approaches and line-readings in order to discover "perfection."

Sometimes, though, one take really is all you need. The following movie moments were nailed on the first take, and it was these takes that were ultimately used in the associated movies. Not that it was planned or anything; it just so happened that when it came time to do the first take of said scenes, everything fell into place and the directors realised that there was just no point wasting time on another one.

In some cases mentioned here, it's kind of miraculous - given their complexity - that the first take actually went so well...
