While the rest of the world was scratching their heads at the usage of "Hooked On A Feeling" by Blue Swede, the rest of us were admiring the first half of that trailer which subtlety plays "Love Is Not Enough" by Nine Inch Nails. Now clearly, a song titled Love Is Not Enough doesn't necessarily fit the theme of an extravagant superhero film involving gun-toting raccoons and living trees €“ although neither did "Hooked On A Feeling" €“ but its usage does work. The first half of the trailer embraces the fact that a large portion of the movie going populace haven't a clue who these characters are, and this is played on by specifically using the instrumental segments of "Love Is Not Enough," which elicit a sense of mystery in sound. Lyrically, there wouldn't be a connection of all, but as background music it fits the introduction scene of the Guardians.
