9 Movie Biopics Despised By Their Own Subjects

7. Sarah Palin (Game Change)

Game Change Julianne Moore Julianne Moore gives an absolutely stonking performance as Sarah Palin in the HBO movie Game Change, and of all the movies on this list, this is certainly one of the easiest to side with the filmmakers over the real-life subjects, given the face-saving nature of disgraced politicians in general. When Palin spoke with Fox News about the movie - because why would she speak to any other news outlet? - she said that she was "not concerned about an HBO movie based on a false narrative", while Palin's ex-spokeswoman Meg Stapleton stated that "looking at the trailers alone gets my blood boiling." Other members of Palin's former staff have, however, lauded the accuracy of the film, with one even referring to it as an "out of body experience". Though few doubted that liberal filmmaker Jay Roach was going to make a pro-Palin film, it really could have been far more acid-tongued in its approach, and Palin's lucky that she's portrayed so sympathetically (as a dedicated family woman, albeit someone who absolutely doesn't belong in politics).
