9 Movies That End Without Solving A Major Problem

8. Seriously, What's The Story With Richard Parker? - The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Wizard Of Oz Toto

Fans weren't jumping for joy when The Amazing Spider-Man was announced, since it was going to explain Peter Parker’s origins yet again. Sony promised a fresh approach, with added back-story about Peter’s parents that would make the whole thing worthwhile. Of course, they deleted most of this from the final cut, so loyal fans would have to see the sequel to find out more about Richard Parker and his experiments.

So naturally The Amazing Spider-Man 2 dips back into this, with Peter finding out more about the research that led to him becoming Spider-Man, though once again, this subplot ultimately goes nowhere. The movie instead focuses on Spidey fighting a couple of villains, losing his girlfriend, being very sad for a bit and then becoming a hero again.

It doesn't end there. The ending leaves many, many problems dangling; we still don’t know the extent of his father’s research, there’s a mysterious dude helping out the Green Goblin and OsCorp look set to create a load of new baddies; for some reason. Most of the plotlines aren’t resolved, and were unwisely saved for a sequel that will never arrive now the rights have returned to Marvel.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
