9 Superhero Movies That (Unfortunately) Didn't Get Made

Catwoman1 Superhero films have come a long way in the last two decades. What used to be campy entertainment is now being taken seriously, and each year we're given more grounded, realistic approaches to these comic book heroes. It's been a long, winding road to get to this point, and though we're constantly looking to the future at what projects Marvel and DC have in their pipelines, it's important to look to the past at the films that have come and gone. Two months ago I wrote an article about 10 superhero films that thankfully never got made. The list included such films as James Cameron's Spider-Man, Jack Black's Green Lantern, and Joel Schumacher's Batman Triumphant. Over the years we've seen countless films based on superhero properties go into production only to land in development hell. Though we certainly got lucky with a few terrible sounding projects, there are also films that might have actually been pretty awesome. I'd like to shift gears now and take a glimpse at 9 superhero movies that, unfortunately, never made it off the ground...
