9 Unmade Guillermo Del Toro Projects We’d Love To See

8. The Haunted Mansion

The only adaptation of the popular Disneyland ride The Haunted Mansion we’ve had so far is the version with Eddie Murphy released back in 2003, and it wasn’t exactly a masterpiece.

When Del Toro was attached to direct a remake, anyone could see that this was a perfect pairing. It's even more obvious now, because we know that Del Toro is capable of creating Haunted House films that are visually stunning, with Crimson Peak in 2015.

There’s a written draft of the screenplay out there, but since the film appeared on Del Toro’s tweeted list of unmade films, we can only assume that we won’t be seeing it anytime soon.

Still, the pairing of the wonderful Gothic Disney Ride and Guillermo Del Toro’s directorial eye would be perfect, and the Haunted Mansion is a film that could definitely benefit from a remake.
