9 Upcoming Characters Who Could Be The New Face Of The MCU

It's time to find a new face as Robert Downey Jr won't be around forever.

DisneyDisneyAt this moment in time, it's probably fair to surmise that the face of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark. He's good looking, he's funny, he's incredibly popular and he's made more starring appearances in movies than any other character to date (Iron Man, Iron Man 2, The Avengers, Iron Man 3, as well as a cameo in The Incredible Hulk and an appearance in flashback scenes in the Marvel One-Shot entitled "The Consultant"). He's the flagship character, but his contract sees him appearing in two more Avengers movies and nothing more at the moment and Marvel will have to give in to the fact that, at 49 years old already, Downey Jr. isn't going to last forever as Tony Stark. So who could take his place? Well there are a number of existing characters who might fit the bill - Chris Hemsworth's Thor, Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner and Chris Evans' Captain America, for example - but there are a number of characters who are yet to appear who could come in and inherit the role (not least because the likes of Captain America are looking odds on to be killed off soon). In this article, we're going to take a look at a few upcoming characters who might have what it takes to replace Tony Stark as the flagship character in the franchise. Here are nine upcoming characters who could be the new face of the Marvel Cinematic Universe...
