Audiences are generally aware of the full slate of studio tent pole releases in a given year well ahead of time. Even news of new releases from celebrated auteurs rears its head early enough to whet the appetites of filmgoers worldwide. Lurking just on the periphery of 2014, however, are films from both respected names and budding filmmakers alike that hope to interject themselves in the conversation alongside the likes of directors such as Anderson, Linklater, and even Jolie come years end (and hopefully, for years afterwards).
