Nothing is ever a sure thing in Hollywood, but it's safe to say that no matter what critics think of movies like Avengers: Endgame, The Lion King and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Disney is mega-confident that they're going to make mad bank at the box office.

But on the other side of the fence, there are those upcoming movies that studios are struggling to conceal their utter lack of confidence in, from ultra-budget sequels in colossal blockbuster franchises, to complex auteur-driven projects deep in post-production, and even long-finished movies that are effectively being sent out to die.
