9 Ways Avengers: Infinity War Will Be Different From The Comics

It's Infinity War in name only.

Avengers: Infinity War is a two-part epic movie event that will hit cinemas around the world in 2018 and 2019 respectively. The movies will be the third and fourth in the Avengers saga, which is a huge part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise, and they look set to take the comic book movie genre to new heights. They share a name with a comic book storyline - 1992's six-issue Infinity War arc - and will undoubtedly take some elements from it, but the fact is it's going to be a very different story on the whole. In a nutshell, the comic book version of the story saw the evil side of Adam Warlock - the Magus - separating from Warlock's body and assembling the Infinity Gauntlet. The Infinity Gems, however, had been rendered impossible to use in unison by the cosmic entity known as the Living Tribunal. Magus goes on to use five Cosmic Cubes to create evil doppelgängers of Earth's mightiest heroes as part of his plan to inflict chaos upon the entire universe. But that's not how the movies of the same name will go down. Avengers: Infinity War will be a mixture of the Infinity War arc, the Infinity Gauntlet arc and some original Marvel Cinematic Universe content - and this article will look at some of the things that will make it differ from the story of the same name...
