Adrien Brody, Timothy Olyphant & More Test For ABE LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER

Before Christmas we reported that Eric Bana was possibly circling the title role in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, the forthcoming 3D period horror/action movie from Timur Bekmambetov (director) and Tim Burton (producer) and based on Seth Grahame Smith's hit novel. It's now a New Year and things must have changed as Bana is now missing from the latest list of actors reported by Deadline of thesps about to test for the role. Those men are; Adrien Brody, a film star who needs no introduction; And then these fine chaps;
Definitely a mix of youth and experience there. Timothy Olyphant is a frequent B-movie villain who blew his chance when handed the A-game in Die Hard 4, Josh Lucas is a fantastic actor you will know from American Psycho and Poseidon, Brit theatre actor Benjamin Walker who missed out this year on the Beast role for X-Men: First Class and then two names who aren't really on any geeks rader - James D'arcy (once supported Master & Commander) and Oliver Jackson-Cohen (Faster). The epistolary-style book is written as a biography of Abraham Lincoln, based on €œsecret diaries€ kept by the 16th President and given to the author by a vampire named Henry Sturges, a role in the movie that has been offered to Tom Hardy €“ but with a spring shoot date looming in preparation for a June 2012 release, one thinks it'll be too much of a clash for Hardy with The Dark Knight Rises. Out of these six fellows would be Lincolners,who would be your prefered choice to don the stovepipe hat?

Neil Upton hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
