Alan Rickman joins Sweeney Todd

300px-Severus_snape.jpgThe awesome Alan Rickman has joined the cast of Tim Burton's dark musical adaptation Sweeney Todd. He will be playing the character of Judge Turpin. Rickman joins regular Burtonite's Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter along with Burton newcomer Sacha Baron Cohen. Plot info from Coming Soon... "The story of Sweeney Todd is of a wrongfully imprisoned barber in Victorian England who sets out to seek revenge on the judge who imprisoned him". I love Alan Rickman's work, he has a great knack of stealing the show in just about every movie he is in. This is still one of my most anticipated films over the next 12 months, I really wish somebody would run this musical as a show near where I live. I would love to see it. Filming is set to begin in February at Pinewood Studio's in London. source - screen daily, coming soon
