Speaking of which, Mr. Yukito Kishiro himself wants more Alita on the big screen. So who are we mere mortals to stand in the way of such a thing?

Whereas most (if not all) big-screen anime adaptations in the past have earned a reaction from the creators of the source material ranging from lukewarm to pure seething hatred, Alita: Battle Angel breaks the mold. The original creator of the original Alita manga entitled Gunnm, Yukito Kishiro served as a creative consultant of sorts on the film and has been openly praising the film since release, going so far as to say;

"It has become the greatest movie in the world. Every time I see, I can find something new. The composition is amazing. All scenes are special and there are no unneeded ones. It is so exciting that I can't believe that I created the original story."

Needless to say, Kishiro has also expressed he is very keen to see the rest of the manga's storylines adapted for the big screen. There's a total of nine volumes of the manga and the film essentially adapted the first two, while also pulling elements from volumes three and four. Which means there is more than enough content left to fill at least one or two sequels, and the creator himself is chomping at the bit to see them.
