Ant-Man And The Wasp: Is The Sequel Better Than The Original?

The plot to both movies are very personal to the characters themselves. In Ant-Man Scott helps Hank and Hope take down Darren Cross. For Scott it is about being able to provide for his daughter, and being a good dad, while for Hank it is about his legacy.

Similarly, Ant-Man and The Wasp shows the trio hunting for Janet, fighting off anyone that may stop them from reaching her. Again, very personal to these particular characters, and these characters only.

The main difference is the consequences if the heroes are to fail. Ant-Man would have seen Darren Cross sell off the Yellow Jacket technology, becoming the most powerful man in the world. This would have affected the world's population as a whole. Should Scott, Hope and Hank failed to have rescued Janet from the Quantum Realm however, no one outside of these three would really have noticed.

Though these consequences would not have affected nearly as many people as in Ant-Man, they were more intimate to the characters we know and love, and it is because we care for them that we are more invested in their personal troubles.

Winner: Ant-Man and The Wasp
