13. Tony Stark And Ant-Man Use B.A.R.F. To Time Travel

The Rumour

As has been discussed a fair bit since the Russos teased that Tony Stark's B.A.R.F. would be important in Avengers 4, it seems there's lots of thinking that the genius will be using it as part of the Avengers' time travelling.

According to one recent "leak" it seems that Tony and Scott Lang will be combining their technology (another theory suggests Tony will use the Reality Stone with B.A.R.F. somehow) to open a doorway to the past.

Response

While the allusion to B.A.R.F. might have been misdirection on the part of the Russos to throw everyone off the scent, it does make sense that such an important bit of technology would come back into play, particularly as it was used almost incidentally in Civil War.

Combining a means to access the Quantum Realm, where time doesn't matter, with a technology system designed to precisely recall memories on a sub-conscious level also seems like the kind of pseudo-science approach the MCU would take.
